mention has been improved to make the tool simpler, more flexible and faster to use by adding 2 new features: the search and new targeting settings when you’re setting up an alert.
1. Search: allows you to search for a specific mention in your mention history. An invaluable method for exhaustive alerts.
The feature is at the end of the list of mentions.
2. New targeting settings:
With this new feature you can now find mentions containing both several words and distinct expressions in answer to your query. A much more efficient way to refine your searches and get the results you really want.
N.B. You don’t have to use quotation marks “” or a hashtag # when you’re setting up your alerts. mention monitors the exact word, just as it is written.
To make things clearer, here’s an example of monitoring on the theme of the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil:
Before you confirm your alert, you get a short summary of your settings and your keywords are displayed. This recap makes it easier to understand and visualize the alert required.
These new settings can be very useful when carrying out monitoring for word association in relation to partnerships and co-branding. You can also refine your search by linking places, people and discriminative details thanks to more precise targeting when setting up an alert.

What about an OR operator? We want to monitor a few different variations of a brand name, but right now we have to create separate mentions for each. Would be much handier if, through an OR operator, we could combine the variations in to one mention.
The OR is “And at least one of the following words” (but it’s not a new feature). Let us know how it goes for your alert. All the best
